Dr. Nita Mosby Henry is the Executive Director of the Office of Human Resources for the City and County of Denver. As the Executive Director, Dr. Mosby Henry is the first African-American woman to head the agency in its 59-year history. Within her first year as Executive Director she spearheaded a major agency re-design focused on delivering “invaluable” service, launched the Inclusivity Project to lead the city to be more inclusive and integrated in the communities it serves, and paved the way for the city to become a true learning organization through the development of Denver City Employee University.

Dr. Mosby Henry, a consultant accredited by the Georgetown University National Center for Cultural Competence, is nationally recognized for her work with healthcare and service delivery organizations. She has consulted with numerous companies, government agencies and non-profit organizations on leadership development, operations effectiveness and HR strategies, as well as diversity, cultural responsiveness and inclusiveness training programs.
Dr. Mosby Henry has a strong academic presence in Colorado, serving as a popular guest lecturer at The University of Denver and University of Colorado. She is also a faculty member in the School of Business Management at the University of Phoenix. She teaches graduate and undergraduate-level courses in Organizational Behavior, Leadership Practices, Employment and Business Law, Critical Thinking and Decision-making, and Management Theory and Application. Dr. Mosby Henry has a vast, 25-year background in domestic and international operations management. She has held roles as Operations Manager for AT&T, Operations Director for Kaiser Permanente in both Georgia and Colorado-regions and Director of Operations for the McKesson Corporation.

In the community, Dr. Mosby Henry received appointments by former-Mayors Wellington Webb and John Hickenlooper and served 9 years as a member of the Career Service Board for the City and County of Denver. She is also a current board member of One Colorado and has also served as the Diversity Chairperson for the Human Rights Campaign at both the local and national levels. In addition, she has served on the Colorado Tobacco Review Committee, the Black Health Collaborative Education Committee and the Disparities Action Committee. She is also the Founder/Director of The Kaleidoscope Project, a community-based organization designed to increase social and health equity within Denver communities.

Dr. Mosby Henry is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the Phi Delta Kappa International education professional association. Dr. Mosby Henry holds a doctorate in the field of Organizational Leadership, a Master of Arts degree in Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
