Lynne Valencia joined KUSA-TV, 9NEWS as Director of Community Relations in December 1999. She was promoted to Vice President Community Relations in May, 2007.

She served on the Gannett Leadership and Diversity Council, with its goal to attract and retain superior talent and develop a diverse workforce.

Prior to joining KUSA-TV, Valencia spent eight years at the CBS Affiliate in Denver in a variety of roles including Traffic Coordinator, Sales Assistant, Community Relations Coordinator and Producer.

Lynne graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 1990. She earned her Master of Special Studies in Communications from the University of Denver in 1995.

Ms. Valencia received a nomination for the Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s Athena award in 2013. In 2008, Valencia received the Women of Distinction award from the Girls Scouts, and the Friendship Award from the Denver Dumb Friends League. She was the recipient of the University of Denver’s Founder’s Day Award for Community Service in 2005. She is a program graduate of Leadership Denver and the Center for Creative Leadership. She has served on numerous community boards and committees.
